Kwok Sang Yuen makes work based on a repeated motif of rectangles linked to computer keyboards or lines of repeated faces. These have been further developed to form huge urban cityscapes, at times dark and tortured, at times bright with light and colour. Built up square by square they are like stitches in fragments of fabric. Recently some of the work has become more abstract and cerebral with the rectangles appearing as a kind of binary language, a pure symbolic communication.
