Peter Tilmin

Working on the floor with his painting materials around him Pete creates a wonderous technicolour painted world of bold colours and free movements. Directional with his choices of colour and mark-making he uses quick bold strokes and textures to create his paintings and mixed media work. Pete uses both traditional equipment like paintbrushes alongside household items such as long handled sponges, decorators’ rollers and found objects. Coloured tape is often worked into his pieces creating layers of texture that are sometimes removed after being worked into, only to be repositioned on canvas as new artworks. More recently Pete has been printmaking in the studio.
