Young People's Project Camden

Action Space is delighted to announce 3 year funding from the Big Lottery Fund - Young People's Fund, which has enabled us to continue working with young people in Camden. We are now in the 2nd year of funding.

Thisproject is for 16-25 year olds with a learning disability who live in Camden. The project is run in partnership with the Leighton Project in Camden.

The group had an exciting exhibition, Pop! at the Cochrane Theatre Gallery in Holborn, December 2006-January 2007. This worked around the theme of transparency. There was fantastic press coverage on Pop! in the Ham & High, Camden New Journal and the Art Spider website.

Pop! moved to the windows of Age Concern Camden's Hillwood Day Centre for the VisAbility Festival in March 2007 and was so succesful that they now have it on permanent display! Please see Events page for details.

The group will also take part in an exhibition 'Rubbish,' at Camden Arts Centre 8th-13th May 2007. They are hard at work for this exhibition! Please see Events page.

The group is also working with the Cockpit adults group in a peer partnership programme, where the adults are learning how to be mentors for the young people.

The previous Camden Young People's group took part in a fantastic exhibition 'Linked,' at the Swiss Cottage Library Gallery in 2006, which was highly successful.
