Cockpit Studio Project

We run a weekly project in our studio at Cockpit Arts for adults with learning disabilities. Cockpit Arts is a mainstream arts building in Holborn. There will be two projects from May 2007!

The particpants exhibit in the Cockpit Open Studios, this is a large scale event which takes place twice a year. This attracts high audience numbers and the artists often sell their work.

The artists also exhibit at the Learning Disability Today Fair (LDTF) at the Islington Business Design Centre. This year, they will once again have a dedicated exhibition space. The LDTF is on 31st October 2007 (please see events page). We are also the selected Charity at the Affordable Arts Fair in October 2007, where the participants will exhibit their work.

The current Cockpit Adults group will have work on display in an exhibition at the new University College London Hospital Street Gallery in June 2007.

The group are working with the Camden Young People's group to learn how to teach and become mentors. This is going very well.

The group had work at the 'Linked' exhibition with the Camden Young People in Swiss Cottage Library Gallery in 2006.

They have also worked with local Camden schools, for 'Linked' and 'Dreamscape City.'
