MIND THE ART WILL BE COMING DOWN ON MONDAY 28 FEBRUARY 2011
From January - May 2010, the artists from Action Space's Camden Friday group took part in a residency project with the London Transport Museum in Covent Garden.
The artists visited the museum to study the collection of vehicles, rolling stock, posters, signs, uniforms, photos, maps and drawings documenting the development of London's public transport system. Sian Thurgood, Community Learning Officer, also visited them in the studio at Cockpit Arts, bringing with her artifacts from the collection.
The artists worked with their Artist Tutor Lisa Brown to develop a body of artwork exploring themes of travel and journeys around the capital.
An exhibition of artwork created during the residency project will be exhibited in the London Transport Musuem's Activity Centre from June - December 2010.
The Private View on Friday, 18th June was attended by The Mayor of Camden Councillor Jonathan Simpson. Pictures of the event can be seen in the Photo Gallery at http://www.actionspace.org/gallery/mind-the-art
