Rubbish!

DSCF1025.jpg
'Rubbish' was an exhibition by Action Space’s Camden Young People’s Group at Camden Arts Centre.
8–13th May 2007

Attendance was in excess of 600 people. The group, from the Leighton Project (a college for young people with learning disabilities, in Kentish Town) had been working in partnership with Camden Arts Centre, attending workshops and exhibitions and created their own fantastic work.

This was an interactive exhibition that invites the viewer to take a second look at the world in which we live. The installation was made entirely from recycled materials. The group of young people had created a world of rubbish with used and recycled bags. This world showed the beauty and vibrancy of the things that we take for granted everyday.

This was the first partnership project between Action Space, Camden Arts Centre and the Leighton Project.

Here is a selection of the feedback received from those who visited the exhibition:

"Another fantastic Action Space event"

"We were thoroughly captivated by the innovative feast of colour and texture; we were very much inspired. We spent an hour viewing, touching and discussing the excellent work."

"Many thanks to the Camden Young People's Group for a wonderful afternoon. Best experience so far this year!"

This project is supported by The Big Lottery Fund – Young People’s Fund, The Foundation for Sport & the Arts, Arts Council England & St Andrew Holborn Charity.

We would like to thank our funders for their generous support.
